We are thankful that God has kept our church family during the pandemic. Though a number of our people contracted the virus, the Lord has restored them to health. We have been able to meet regularly for wor- ship and study.
Thank God also for our church elders who ably ministered in Pastor Paul’s absence several Sundays this sum- mer: Jeff Engelman, Joseph Clay, and Charles Bright. Also, Gary Krehbiel, FEBC Ministries Coordinator, shared with us the biblical base we must maintain in today’s changing civiliza- tion — that of loving God supremely and our neighbors as He made them.
The ministry of Dr. John Niemela on August 1 was a time of new insights from John’s Gospel and a look at the list of believers Paul greeted at Rome, showing how much Christ’s church had grown in its first 25 years.
A potluck on August 15 was for final planning for Awana before begin- ning our 25th season on Wednesday, September 8.
We had a brief introduction to Luke’s Gospel on August 15 during the evening service in preparation for our study of Luke which continued into September.
Our Sunday School Picnic was at Camp Jefferson in September.

As September opened up before us, we were thankful to be meeting together once again. We had an outdoor service on our church yard followed by a barbeque, and invited
our neighborhood. This was a new endeavor.
We are anticipating getting to know our pastoral candidate better. God has provided a fine young Bible-lov- ing couple who are willing to consid- er joining us.
We are anticipating reaching out into the neighborhood with Awa- na once again, as we have done for many years.
We also mourn the loss of a faithful, much loved couple, long-standing members of our fellowship, who passed away during the COVID pan- demic, Mary and John Dyck.

At the time of this writing, we are gearing up for a full year of ministry, with our ministry leaders excited for a new year with new opportunities. We are excited for the start of small groups which will be re-introduced this fall, with a church-wide theme of “Growing Connected”.
Over the summer we were able to welcome three of our global partners home for a visit, and we featured each of them on a bulletin board with several of their chosen ministry pictures of their time abroad. The church family enjoyed looking at this bulletin board, which we titled “Missionary Spotlight.”
Our Fall Kickoff was planned for September 12 with a child dedication during the service, followed by a churchwide barbeque, bouncy cas- tles, and a sand-pit dig. The Young at Heart have also had a couple of events where they have encouraged each other and shared stories of God’s faithfulness. Our Brigade ministry as well as both youth
groups have fun events and activities planned. We trust the Lord works on the hearts of each of the kids in attendance this year.
We are also planning a Thanksgiv- ing meal on October 17, to praise the Lord for all he has done this year, and to provide an opportunity to fel- lowship together as a church family.

This year has not been what we expected, but it has contained many blessings for which we can be thankful as a church. We are thankful for the many people who have used their skills and creativity to serve our congregation. From the expertise offered in setting up video equipment and live streaming capabilities, to the creativity of our Sunday school teachers that desire to reach our children with the love of Jesus. We have been blessed with five marriages, five births, and nine child dedications. The dedication and steadfastness seen in people attend- ing our church has been encourag- ing. We are thankful for the joy and fellowship found in community.
This fall we are excited for the interest in fall programs (Awana, College and Career, Junior and Se- nior Youth, Sunday School). We are once again looking forward to our Thanksgiving meal in October and Live Nativity this December. These events and ministries are pivotal to our community outreach.
Pastor Tim’s summer series has been an overview of the book of Psalms. As we reflect on this year, Psalms can be helpful in bringing focus to that reflection. Lament is needed and has its place in our church, but we look
