forward in anticipation for what God has for us in the future. May we echo the words of the Israelites still in exile yet looking forward with hope to the relief only God can bring.
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south … Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

As the fall approaches, we are excited to resume junior and senior youth as well as Sunday School. Due to Covid-19 we did not have much of a Sunday School last year and the kids are excited about having it again.
We are also planning on holding an- other ladies conference at the church in October.
Fall also brings with it the start up of our chaplin program with the Bron- cos hockey team, which our church has been supporting for years.
A few months ago Pastor Sean led a few sessions in the evening on “Talking to Your Catholic Friends and Family about Christ”. Humboldt and the area surrounding it is largely Catholic.

We praise the Lord for having all restrictions lifted church in July! We
celebrated with a barbeque lunch. It was great to see and hear everyone visiting. The sermon series for sum- mer was “What’s in a Name” where we have been studying the various names God.
We were thankful for summer oppor- tunities such as Soccer Camp for chil- dren, Adventure Week for families, Church Camping Weekend, and the Men’s Fishing Trip. Some were also involved at camps as speakers, cooks and campers.
We are excited that Bible Discovery, Youth, Children’s Church and Kids’ Club have started once again.
A barbeque lunch was enjoyed in the park to celebrate the start of a new year.
Global Partners, Jason & Joanne Borrowman from Africa, gave a presentation on September 19. A soup fundraising lunch was provided.

A beautiful baptismal service was held on Sunday morning, August 15. Ten of our young people chose to follow the Lord in baptism and gave their testimonies. It was a time of rejoicing in what God is doing in the lives of our children and young peo- ple and a challenge to continue to invest in them. Pastor Bob prepared the congregation by giving a message the previous Sunday titled “Why Wa- ter Baptism Matters”.
As we said goodbye to seniors who graduated and left for college, we be- gan a new year bringing in new high school students. Senior High had a Kick-Off day at Worlds of Fun with a great time of fun and bonding. Awa- na Kick-Off was also held this week and we look forward to the outreach opportunity it provides as we train our kids in the scriptures.
During the month of September our Adult Sunday School focused on

awareness of the dangers of the in- ternet for our young people. Speak- ers provided wisdom for parents on how to protect their children. Cory Townsend, a graduate of Grace Uni- versity and a 20-year veteran of the Nebraska State Patrol, has worked on the “Internet Crimes Against Children” task force. He spoke on the topics of “The Internet & Preda- tors” and “Self-Destructive Behavior Online.” Kim Boyce is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of human service man- agement experience. He taught on the subject of “iGen: The Connect- ed-Disconnected Generations.”
Our church is once again entering into a “Pastor Search” phase. Pastor Bob Stretch has been with us for three years and is moving towards retirement. We are blessed to have him continue as our pastor while we seek the person God will bring to lead us into future ministry here.

Our church is now open to all who wish to come. Sunday School is being held for children ages three to nine. The youth are teaching and leading the class. Over the past 18 months painting was done inside the church to clean and tidy up. We had terrible smoke for months that came from the fires in British Columbia. The virus over the past year and a half has been very hard on people in many ways.
We have much to pray about as a church. Pastor John Fehr is starting a series entitled, “Navigating the results of Covid19.” In September we started a monthly class for youth, ages 13 to 17, and a bi-monthly class for youth, ages nine to 12, to be held during the service. We also have Sunday school for children ages two to eight.
