Focus on Our Churches

Indian Head Community Bible Church

Indian Head, Saskatchewan Justin Epp, Pastor

Summer ministry at the church included a week-long children’s program in July. We were excited to have 13 children attend on the first day; more than half of them had not regularly been to the church before that. Participation remained consistent through the week. The children watched the Bible and missionary stories posted online by Saskatchewan Child Evangelism Fellowship for the organization’s virtual 5-day Club program. Church members provided leadership for other aspects of the program like music, memory verse and games.

In August, the church participated in the community’s “Indian Head Days” by hosting an outdoor music night. Worship team members shared hope and gospel joy through a variety of songs, enjoyed by the congregation and community.

highlight all of our ministries. This fall, we were able to resume gather- ings such as Fellowship Dinners and Connection groups.

Every March, we have our Hearts for the Harvest event, where we gather to hear from some of Crosspoint’s supported ministries. However, due to covid the event was postponed. It took place August 25 and was a great time to catch up with our missionar- ies and hear how God is working all over the world!

As mentioned earlier in this issue, Crosspoint has also been blessed by some new staffing updates. See page 21 for more information on that!

Please pray for wisdom for our recent- ly-formed search committees who are tasked with selecting both interim and permanent pastors. We are in need of a lead pastor. Please pray for wisdom for our elder board. Also pray for our fall programs as we move for- ward. May God’s hand and guidance be visible throughout this process.

This fall we are looking forward to resuming Sunday School and we praise God for raising up volunteers to teach all the classes from toddler through adult.

Martensville Mission Church

Martensville, Saskatchewan Justin Klassen, Pastor facebook.com/ martensvillemissionchurch

We are so excited for our fall start-up and so thankful that we can freely meet together again! Our fall Kick- Off Sunday was September 12 when both children and adult Sunday school classes started and Pastor Jus- tin introduced a new sermon series in the book of Luke. The morning service was followed by a family barbeque.

That following week, we saw our junior and senior youth programs, children’s Awana program, and weekly Bible study resume. Small groups were back in full swing, as well as our monthly seniors coffee get-together. After more than a year of restrictions, we were excited about being able to serve coffee and good- ies on Sunday mornings and enjoy that time of fellowship together once again as well! We look forward to also sharing a delicious Thanksgiv- ing meal together in October.

The Marion EMB church heard a report from Kennon Hofer about the work of Child Evangelism Fellowship in the Local Lewis and Clark Dis- trict. Kennon also has brought us the morning messages when available. The local CEF ministry conducted Vacation Bible School in Freeman in August, had a booth at the Turner County Fair, and will have Good News Clubs in area schools this school year.

Local Gideons participated in the New Testament distribution booth at the Turner County Fair.

The South Dakota Mennonite Di-

saster Service has been volunteering at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with some building projects. We have been spared weather related disasters so far this year. Steve Al- brecht is our representative.

We are blessed with faithful at- tendance weekly. Please continue to pray for our leaders as they seek guidance for our present and future ministries.
