HARVEST NO TES A Two–Way Conversation

by ROGER REIMER After investing 40 years as a cross-cultural Christ follower, making an effort to keep our personal supporters

informed and trying to reflect a positive encouraging outlook, I would like to offer some suggestions for you to consider as you seek to be a good supporter.

1. Utilizing the various social media platforms that are available, why not initiate a conversation with your glob- al partner friend, instead of always waiting for a letter from her or him?

2. Begin with the goal of building on the friendship that you have with your global partner. 3. Learn how to ask questions that would reveal something about his real struggles.

4. I found that it was easier to respond to questions about ministry rather than trying to guess what my sup- porter wanted to know.

5. Ask your global partner friend to share a highlight that he really enjoys. Don’t be afraid to ask your friend to share something that he struggles with. You know you want to be an informed prayer warrior!

6. Instead of expecting a prayer letter every other month, why not send your global partner a letter for every one he sends you!

Well, try these on for size, and see if this kind of two-way conversation helps you better understand the life

and ministry of your cross-cultural friend. Comments from you, the reader, would be appreciated! Roger Reimer rdreimer45@gmail.com Roger Reimer has a long history with the FEBC, having grown up within the fellowship. He served as a global partner

for 40 years. He is currently chair of the Commission on Global Partnership within the FEBC.
