Silent Auction at 2022 AIPG Annual Meeting for the Foundation of the AIPG
A silent auction was held at the Welcome Reception of the AIPG Annual Meeting in Marquette, Michigan to benefit the Foundation of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. The silent auction event was held to raise money through the sale of donated items for the benefit of the Foundation and its programs, and to raise awareness of the Foundation. The Michigan Section kindly organized the silent auction for the Foundation. There was a wide range of donations from AIPG members. Donated items included several amazing mineral/rock specimens, polished rock bookends, tumbled stones, onyx bowl and vase, gift baskets, AGI books, several pieces of jewelry, and some Michigan tourist items. It was a nice assortment of items and a variety of values. At the end of the evening, the Foundation realized about $3,700 from the silent auction and the guests had a fun evening.
The Foundation offers a big thank you to the AIPG members for the many wonderful donated items. And, another thank you to those who also participated in the silent auction by bidding and making a donation for that winning bid item. The money raised from the silent auction will go to the Foundations general fund for use toward Foundation-supported programs and scholarships.
The Foundation looks forward to another silent auction at next year’s meeting so start looking around for those items to donate and be sure to come to the annual meeting in September 2023!
