LAC Helps Industry Navigate Significant Changes and Challenges

T


he current turbulence facing our industry, including significant geopolitical changes and the dev-


astation brought on by natural disasters, highlights the importance and value of the AGC of California partnership between industry leaders and legal professionals. Te AGC of California Legal Advisory Committee (LAC) and its member attor- neys are actively working on these issues, including how to address the potential impact of new or threatened federal tariffs, how to resolve conflicting federal and state diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) requirements, and how to confront redevelopment challenges in the wake of natural disasters. Te LAC is comprised of the top con- struction attorneys in California, with a

broad range of specialties. Tis tremen- dous resource of knowledge and expe- rience is available to AGC of California members through the Legal Hotline at www.cognitoforms.com/AGC/Legal- Hotline. Staying Abreast of Policy, Legislation, Regulations and Case Law Te LAC meets monthly to discuss devel- opments in policy, legislation, regulations, and case law impacting the construction industry in California, culminating in our annual retreat (this year set for September 12-14 at Everline Resort in Lake Tahoe).


Te LAC also publishes a quarterly news- letter with legal updates and produces webinars for members on key construc- tion law issues. Te LAC works with the AGC of Cal- ifornia staff and consultants through a number of different subcommittees and initiatives to support the latest activities and priorities of the AGC of California and its members.
