CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTOR: Alicia, you have been an outspoken proponent of the expanded use of virtual design and construction tools, especially BIM, in the infrastructure sector, and you re- cently played a key role helping Caltrans organize its first annual, two-day BIM Summit in Sacramento, where you were a featured speaker. Why do you think Caltrans’ upcoming rollout of its BIM for Infrastructure (BIM4I) initiative is so important for the heavy construction sector in California, and what was your primary message to summit attendees?
