MOVING MOUNTAINS Building on Our Successes BY PAT KELLY, PRESIDENT, AGC OF CALIFORNIA A

s we usher in the new year, let me extend my warmest wishes to all our readers and

members of AGC of California. 2024 was full of milestones that propelled our chapter forward. Thank you to all AGC of California members, partners, and stakeholders for their unwavering sup- port and dedication over the past year. Our collective efforts make a substan-

tial impact on the construction industry. Some key 2024 successes include: • Achieving the $1 million milestone of fundraising for the AGC of California PAC for the first time!

• A highly successful legislative session • Increased membership engagement • More than 4,500 participants in association networking events

• Achieving record revenue • Being named “Large Chapter of the Year” by AGC of America Looking ahead to 2025, the con-

struction market in California is robust. FMI forecasts a record $200 billion+ investment in California construction work in 2025, presenting unprecedented growth opportunities. Our industry is well-positioned to capitalize on them, with a highly skilled workforce, strong re- lationships with our clients in the public and private sectors, and a commitment to sustainable and inclusive practices. As we move into 2025, the AGC of

California board and staff are com- mitted to building on our successes while addressing evolving needs in our industry. We will continue to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity, ensuring our members are equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. Let me challenge you all: find ways to

increase your engagement with AGC of California in 2025. Attend a networking event, contribute to the AGC of California PAC, participate in a liaison committee, recruit a new member, or work with the Construction Education Foundation to attract more talented people to our in- dustry. Te success of AGC of California depends on the commitment of members to making a difference in our industry. I would also like to welcome the

2025 AGC of California State Board of Directors. We are fortunate to have 26 board members representing a diverse cross section of the industry, bringing more than 500 years of collective con- struction experience to provide vision and support to AGC members and staff. Join us on February 7 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Franciso for the Installation & Awards Gala, where we will officially install and welcome the 2025 officers and present the individual Achievement and Constructor awards. On a personal note, know that I am

humbled and honored to serve as your AGC of California president in 2025. I’ve been involved with AGC chapters at many levels for most of my 40+ years in the industry, and this has been one of the best career decisions that I have made. As a result, I’ve grown personally and professionally, made great friends, and developed career-long relationships, all while having lots of fun. I look forward to seeing you at an AGC

of California event soon. Happy New Year, and here’s to a prosperous 2025!

Pat Kely

Kindest Regards, Pat Kelly, President
