Emery Molnar, deputy executive director at Los Angeles World Airports, spoke during an Airport Showcase session at CONSTRUCT 2024. In 2021, AGC of California launched
the Showcase initiative, where owners from across the state could convene with our members virtually. Trough this program, owners had a space to reach out to contractors and talk about their 12-month project lookaheads, expand on major upcoming projects, go over their expected five-year capital improvement programs, explain available alternative delivery methods, and more. Te capital project valuation covered in these pre- sentations can be totaled in the billions of dollars. What started off as a single virtual
aviation project preview with a handful of owners has expanded to a major, ongoing AGC of California program designed to keep members informed of upcoming work across sectors. These showcases have become such a marquee event that business development teams and project executives have made this an integral part of their strategy. In 2024, AGC of California took the next step with bringing what was once only virtual, live. Te 2024 AGC of Cali-
fornia CONSTRUCT conference focused on what makes our industry great, that face-to-face interaction. Not only did members get to hear about upcoming work from 25 different owners, but they had the opportunity to get an inside look at the latest economic and industry insights from experts such as Julie Owen, senior executive officer of Project Man- agement Oversight at LA Metro, Darrin Lambrigger with the Port of Long Beach, and Ray Hopkins, division chief of Con- struction at Caltrans. AGC of California has always been
innovative when it comes to advancing our industry. We remain committed to taking on great challenges by strengthen- ing the relationship between contractors and owners. We hope you will join us in the coming new year as we continue Showcase initiative.
