> OUTSTANDING VARIETIES COMPETITION 2026

Cut Roses ‘ALL IN’

Flower Village All three judges gushed over the eye-catching tangerine hue and triangular, geometric petal formation of ‘All In’. “This got one of my highest scores overall,” said Ekberg. “The color pops and the pointed petals give it texture and character.” She also praised the thornless stem that “isn’t so thick I need a hacksaw to cut it,” and consistent bloom openings. “All these things save me time, and thus money, prepping fl owers and I can tell that no stems would go to waste,” she said. She would love to pair it with peach and light orange fl owers to mimic a sunset.

‘FANCY DREAMS’

Jet Fresh Flower Distributors “I love how the heads seem to cascade open,” Jacques said, adding that the peach-colored center added dimension to this delicate blush rose. Ekberg admired how fully ‘Fancy Dreams’ opens in the center. “That’s a huge selling point for me, because it’s what wows my customers and keeps them coming back,” she said. Alders would readily recommend this variety for weddings. “The color is very popular, and its concentric shape is lovely,” he said.

‘MAMMA MIA’

Flower Village Jacques appreciated the gradations of red. “It looks like it has shadows on it, which gives it great dimension,” she said. Because red roses “are always in demand,” Alders was thrilled to fi nd a variety with clean foliage, no deformities, and a large head with a high petal count.

‘SUMMER ROMANCE’

Flower Village “I would use this every season for any occasion,” Ekberg said. “It’s so pretty, I would fi nd a way to use it for Christmas! It radiates joy.” Jacques described the color as “vibrant, yet soft.” Alders applauded the high petal count and fi rm fl ower heads. “It doesn’t open very wide, but it looks like it would hold up well in transit.”

‘RIO STAR PLATINUM’

Equiflor-Rio Roses Both Jacques and Alders commented on the comely coloring that starts as a lavender in the center and blends to a light green with a pink edge. “This would work in many wedding palettes,” Alders said, adding that he also gave ‘Rio Star Platinum’ high marks for having fi rm heads that would ship well and hold their shape.
