Cut Chrysanthemums ‘BRAZUCA ORANGE’
Deliflor Americas Palenzuela scored ‘Brazuca Orange’ highly for its large size, perfect round shape, and vibrant color for summer or fall. “This would serve as a great focal fl ower,” he said. Bilke saw another dahlia doppelganger “that’s more readily available, cheaper, and hardier for big installations like arches.” She’d also love to incorporate it in fall arrangements with ‘Teddy Bear’ sunfl owers and scabiosa pods.
‘KAMI PEACH’
Icon Selections Palenzuela gushed over this entry’s high number of laterals and buds that continue to open. “It would be very valuable for fl orists to have as a fi ller or for corsages and boutonnieres,” he said. The coloring, which reminded him of a sunrise or sunset, gave ‘Kami Peach’ extra dimension and perceived value. Bilke said this chrysanthemum would be right at home in the Madeline’s Flowers showroom, which tends to feature a lot of pinks. She would pair it with peonies or garden roses, lacecap hydrangeas, and pepper berries.
‘MAGNUM CREAM’
Deliflor Americas “This is not a fl ower that consumers would necessarily request, but fl orists would defi nitely know how to wow them with it,” Palenzuela said. “Each bloom is the size of my palm, and a 22-day vase life is phenomenal!” Bilke, too, admired its size. “This would be ideal for sympathy and event work, when large fl owers are such an asset,” she said. The way the color blends from green to cream also makes it exceptionally versatile, she said.
