New Sidewalk/Repaving of Parking Area O

CHIP SHERER President

ne of the quiet but important aspects of Christian hospitality is con- tinually asking how we can better serve the people God brings to our grounds. Recently, that commitment took form through two major

improvements: the construction of a new handicap-accessible sidewalk and the repaving of our main parking lot.       especially for our wheelchair guests. With its gentle grade and smooth surface, this new sidewalk will allow our guests to move much more easily between our

Dining Room (and Convocation) to other key areas of the grounds, including Founders Hall, the Chapel, Young Lodge, and Founders South, without having to traverse directly through the main parking lot. We believe this will be a tremen- dous improvement for all of our guests and an important enhancement to the overall safety of everyone. I am also excited about the repaving of our main parking lot. Years of use and weather have taken a toll on the surface, and the new pavement will greatly improve both appearance and safety. In addition, as part of the repaving project, we plan to slightly adjust the angle of the main vehicle passageway through the parking area in order to give drivers a better view of pedestrians and those in wheelchairs. We are deeply grateful for the many supporters, donors, staff members, and volunteers whose commitment makes

projects like these possible. Facility improvements are essential tools that help us serve guests more effectively. And these improvements helps us create an environment where people can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. As we prepare for another busy summer season of camps and conferences, we thank the Lord for His continued pro- vision and for the opportunity to improve our campus in ways that better serve all of our guests. Our prayer is that every guest who comes here — regardless of age or physical ability — will experience not only accessibility and comfort, but also the warm welcome and gracious hospitality for which Bonclarken has long been known.
