The theme of the Synod Conference, hosted by Outreach North America, was church health
and growth. Dr. Ligon Duncan, chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary, served as the fea- tured speaker.
He outlined 10 biblical distinctives to cultivate in healthy churches:
• Establish healthy churches that are committed to expositional Bible teaching. biblically faithful. If what you sing and what you preach are different, then they will believe
• Cultivate devotion to Bible doctrine. • Cultivate warm Christian piety, with reference to Ephesians 3:14–19. • Promote family religion in healthy ARP churches and church plants. • Develop a biblical understanding of the gospel and evangelism among church members.
• Develop a biblical understanding of conversion and discipleship.
