OABA Steps Up Collaboration with Fair Industry Partners at IAFE Convention

Get Ready for Our Time in Phoenix

As Chairman of Outdoor Amusement Business Association  approach to industry collaboration, beginning with the relocation of our fall board meeting from the IAAPA Convention in Orlando to the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) Convention, which is being held this year in Phoenix. As an executive of RCS, headquartered right here in Phoenix, I’m excited to welcome everyone to my hometown, where we will take this big step in strengthening our connection with fair partners. After years of holding our fall board meetings at IAAPA,

we recognized that our long-term goals are more aligned with the collaboration of our fair industry partners. As a result, we’ve made the decision to move our meeting to the IAFE host city each year. This strategic shift is about more than just location—it represents our commitment to working more closely with those who share our vision for the future of the mobile amusement industry.

Comprised primarily of fair industry members, this group will bring fresh perspectives and insights that will help guide the decisions and initiatives that impact our entire membership. Their input is critical as we navigate new challenges and opportunities within the outdoor amusement industry. Member Engagement and Networking

OABA will host a cocktail party exclusively for our members during the convention. This event offers a fantastic opportunity for networking and strengthening relationships within our industry. We are also proud to be sponsoring the DJ at the IAFE Kick-Off Party on Sunday night, setting the stage for a week full of excitement and collaboration. Focus on Safety and Excellence

One of the key moments of the convention will be OABA’s

workshop on Tuesday at 10:30, titled “The Conversation Continues – Active Shooter Coordination.” This session will focus on employee training using the VOLT platform, provide important updates on federal regulations, and emphasize the  safety across the industry. A Final Push for 2024 Goals

This is a pivotal time for OABA as we close out the calendar

year 2024. My focus as Chairman has always been on ensuring that we meet all of our strategic targets, and the IAFE Convention represents one of the target opportunities to come  that through increased interaction with our fair industry partners, we will hit every goal we’ve set. A Warm Phoenix Welcome

As an Aussie turned Phoenician, I am especially proud to

host this year’s event here in Phoenix, where I live with my family. There’s something truly special about this city, and I’m looking forward to turning as many of you as possible into honorary Phoenicians during your stay. I look forward to seeing everyone in Phoenix for what

promises to be an exciting, productive, and transformative convention!

Warm Regards Ben Pickett,
