ASSOCIATION • Association BUZZ From the Desk of the President Greg Chiecko, OABA President

and adopted our new strategic plan for the year. It is very important that we grow and retain our membership in all categories. We will be providing new offers for education and other member benefits to make certain that we are fulfilling the needs of our mem- bers. In our second Voice of the Member Survey, we grew positive responses in every category. This means that we deliver what the members want, and we were provided with many ideas about what offerings the members would like to see. We have a lot to do to make sure that our members are happy with their association and to keep it growing. Under the direction of Chair Huston, we

are documenting our history with a series of two books. We would like to have your his- tory heard. Please call the office about how you can participate in this historical project.

efinally have ourbillnumbers H2729 for the CARE ACT and S1281 forthe RIDE ACT. We cannow

start the process of getting our Congressional Representatives and Senator to sign on as Co- sponsors of our legislation—we should have great success with those that signed on in the 118th Congress. Please make sure that you let Rocky from HB Strategies know if you have contacted your Congressional office and what the results are. If you are more comfortable with sending the information to me or Tim, that is fine as well. As soon as we complete the task of getting the

folks from the last Congress, we must push the rest of Congress to sign on to our bills—we need to get as many people as possible to sign on. We will be having a fly-in to Washington, DC, this Spring and we will be targeting those who have the most potential to sign on to our bill. We have new information sheets that you can send to Congressional offices that provide them with import- ant information about these two bills. We also will have new leave-behind information when you make a personal visit to their offices. All this information is available on our website, . By this time you receive this issue of ShowTime our board of directors would have met in Charleston, South Carolina,

Finally, I’msad to announce that SueGallup, our

Administration/Member Service Manager, has decided to retire from her duties at OABA. She came out of retire- ment six years ago after many years at the Eastern States Exposition (The BIG E) to share her talents with our team at the OABA. I can’t thank Sue enough for all the positive con- tributions she has made to our organization. Replacing her will not be an easy task. She will retire, for good this time, at the end of May. Let’s pray for a safe and successful season.
