he “circusy month of May” is upon us, thus leaving a frigid winter far behind. And, the American circus is starting to bloom into its full capacity with a colorful
bouquet of circus chills and thrills from coast-to-coast. Cirque du Soleil’s Crystal plays Spokane (WA) May 1–4 before skipping across the Canadian border for two weeks and then returning to Portland (OR) on May 29. Echo is in San Jose (CA) through May 11 followed by a gig in Laguna Hills May 23 thru all of June. ‘Auana, a new Cirque pro- duction that opened in March will play throughout the summer at the OUTRIGGER Waikīkī Beachcomer Hotel in Honolulu (HI).
