ASSOCIATION • Association BUZZ From the Desk of the President Greg Chiecko, OABA President I

n this edition of ShowTime, I am going to focus my comments on the OABA Contribution

Fund. Anyone can participate in this program, but the majority are car- nivals and food and games con- cessions. We have a byline for the Contribution Fund — The Industry Giveback Program Helping You. The Contribution Fund does three

important things for our industry and its participants. First is raising mon- ey, supporting the important legal, legis- lative (both federal and state) and lobbying issues in our industry. Second is winning money, monthly and year-end chances to win prize drawings giv- ing back to participants about $27,000 a year. The third is

saving money. When your combined con- tribution funds raised exceed thresh- oldgoals,yourannualmember- ship dues are waived. If you are a Carnival 1 member the threshold is $25,000, Carnival 2 is $10,000, and Carnival 3 is only $3,000. Furthermore, any concession category member who donates $1,000 or moretowardGuest Worker Advocacy will have their dues waived.

The program is easy to participate in. Simply select a category —

Bronze ($10 per week), Silver ($20 per week) or Gold ($5 per day) — and con- tact the office to get your donation slips. Collect the funds and send them to the office with your donation slips. Watch for the winners pulled at the end of every month on social media, XTRA and in ShowTime magazine. Your company will be recognized for your participation in many ways in- cluding at the annual meeting and in ShowTime.

It’s a great program. Please give it a try.

In other news, we have sold out our first volume of our

yet unnamed history book. Twenty-five companies have stepped up to the plate to document the history of their fam- ilies and companies. We plan to launch the book at the IAFE Convention in Denver. We will be publishing volume two in 2026. Hats off to our Chair, Blake Huston, for bringing this idea forward. As an Association we continue to advocate for you on

many levels. If you have challenges with state or federal reg- ulations, please let me know so we can offer you assistance. I will see many of you as I continue my summer trips to events across the country. Please stay safe.

Sincerely, Greg Chiecko
