Presents CIRCUS REPORT& ShowbizUSA By Lee Stevens, Executive Director C.W.M. O

n June 28th my wife Judy and I ventured up to Frederick, Maryland. Our flight to Baltimore on the 27th was delayed 3 times before they offered to re-

fund our tickets. We didn’t want to arrive in Baltimore at 3 in the morning, so we arranged a flight on Saturday morn- ing into Washington, DC, instead. Arriving just after 11 in the morning, our son Alexander and his fiancé Taylor were able to meet us at the airport and whisked us off on a whirlwind tour of DC. We also were able to meet our new in-laws that evening over a great steak dinner. Our hosts Tom and Barbara Gaylin (Rosedale Attractions)

met us at our hotel the next morning and we enjoyed a great brunch, while eagerly discussing some of the new ideas I have for the Carnival World Museum, the new name for what used to be the Showmen’s Museum. We then traveled to

the lot where Rosedale Attractions was, where new owner, Joey Gaylin was finishing setting up the show on a beautiful grassy lot. Today was the big day for the Museums Jamboree! The

weather was extremely hot but nonetheless a fabulous time was had by all. The catered food was wonderful, and the Ice- cold drinks were plentiful. I was honored to be asked to be the auctioneer for this very successful Jamboree and was happy to be among friends and fellow show people. I hope to be asked to do more jamborees with other shows this summer and would be only too happy to oblige. The Carnival World Museum could certainly use some more funds in the coffers. Once againthankstoTom,Barbara,Joey, Jasonand

Michelle Gaylin for their continued support of the Carnival World Museum.

See ya down the road, Lee Stevens
