Then it is on to Charlotte (NC) to close out the month. Echo is in Denver (CO) thru August 7, then heads north into Canada. Garden Bros. Circus is in Dayton (OH) thru August 4, fol-
lowed by gigs in Troy (MI) August 7–11; Toledo (OH) August 4–18;and Cleveland(OH)August21–25 before heading northeasttoplayBuffalo(NY)August28–September1. Vazquez Circus is moving across town in Houston to play the Greenspoint Mall August 1–17 before departing to Georgia for a 12-day stint in Atlanta August 22–September 7. Its sister circus FL!P is in Burlington (MA) thru August 5 and Yorktown Heights (NY) August 22 into early September. On the West Coast, Circus Vargas is coming off its an-
nual summer break to open the second half of its season August 7–18 in Salinas (CA). Flynn Street Circus of Mendocino (CA) presents The Bridge production in multiple California lo- cations: first in the City of Weed thru August 3; followed by gigs in Eureka August 7–17; Point Arena August 21–27; and then opening in Kirkwood Mountain Resort August 29 before head- ing into Oregon. Meanwhile, two units of Circo Caballeros continue to crisscross the state of California this month. Omnium: The Bold Circus continues its 2025 season in
Dallas (TX) for one performance only on August 13 followed by a single-night show in Birmingham (AL) August 16. Cirque Má CEO, the classy equestrian spectacle, is in Alaska this month, first invading Anchorage August 2–4 and continu- ing to Fairbanks August 9–11. Bindlestiff Family Cirkus of Brooklyn (NY) continues its weekly Wednesday afternoon/ evening free Hudson Juggling Club lessons throughout the month, then performs in the 16th New York City Unicycle Festival August 28–31. The four-day fest includes gigs at the Hudson River Park and Brooklyn Bridge plus two “long-dis- tance unicycle rides” from Battery Park to Central Park. panding circus is Cirque Italia’s seven touring units. Five (often retitled) units — Paranormal Black, Paranormal Orange, Paranormal Red, Gold, and Silver — are spread out domestically this month from Iowa to Missouri, Ohio to Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to Washington. Paranormal Purple and Platinum units are touring across Southern Canada. If you hurry, you can catch a performance of Ringling Museum’s Summer Circus Spectacular playing in Sarasota’s (FL) Historic Asolo Theater thru August 9. Produced in partnership with the Circus Arts Conservatory and directed by CAC’s creative director and ringmaster Jared E. Walker,
this year’s production is particularly re-
markable. Among featured artists are aerialist Aidan Bryant; juggler Nilson Escobar; Sian España on the wheel; clown Juan Carlos Valencia; Ethiopia’s Trio Black Diamond, an all-female acrobatic hand balancing act; and Quick-Change Artists Karchy and Anita Zeman. About 1500 miles to the north, an equally impressive mu-
seum-based live circus performance is wooing patrons at Circus World Museum in Baraboo (WI), the original home of the seven Ringling brothers. Holidays! 2025 Big Top Show! plays through August 31. Headlining the show are The Flying Poemas on the trapeze along with other outstanding acts such as a Russian Swing, Motorcycle Highwire, an Equine Display, juggling, and clowns. Circus Smirkus plays Newbury (MA), Kennebunkport
(ME), Cumberland (ME), Hanover (NH), and Milton (VT) be- fore returning to its hometown of Greensboro (VT) to close out its 2025 seven-week Northeastern tour. Fritz Grobe made his directorial debut this season guiding twenty-nine 12–18-year-old aspiring artists through their paces. Youth Circus Juventas of St. Paul (MN) opened its Annual Summer Show, titled LUMIÈRE, July 25 and will run thru August 10 under CJ’s Big Top arena. The storybook production
