The Early Career Visiting Program is a 1-day shadowing opportunity that provides early career SIR members with greater insight to expand their practice and explore diff erent practice models.


To be eligible, applicants must be an early career attending physician (up to 8 years out of training) within the U.S. or Canada and an SIR member.

This year, IR Quarterly is launching a special series investigating the IR workforce landscape. As part of this special series, we will be spotlighting IR practices from across the globe, highlighting the breadth and diversity of IR practice. Whether you’re in a traditional model or trying something new, we want to hear from you.


We have a lot of questions, and the ones below are just a sample of what we want to know.


• How would you defi ne your practice model?


• How many IRs, NP/PAs, technologists and support staff do you have?


• Are you in a rural area or more urban area?


• What services and therapies make up the bulk of your practice?


• What support do you have when you fi nd yourself in a challenging case?


• Do you ever do interdisciplinary cases (i.e., with vascular, GI, oncology, etc.)?


• How do you fi t into the care of your community as a whole?


• If you could add one thing to your practice, what would it be?


• What is one thing you wish you could change about your current practice?


• What is your favorite aspect of your practice?


• What advice do you have for a trainee considering practicing in your type of practice setting?
