Associations Grappling With Political-Type Displays

What The Law Says
Homeowners’ associations of all ages are required to allow display of signs that would generally be described as political in nature. RCW 64.38, the Homeowners’ Associations Act (HOA Act), states in pertinent part that “governing documents may not prohibit the outdoor display of political yard signs by an owner or resident on

the owner's or resident's property before any primary or general election.”
