President’s Message

Hello Chapter Members! Four seasons have come and gone since I became WSCAI’s Chapter President. You followed me through my

great gardening adventures, and you’ve seen and hopefully experienced new programming, access to information, and outreach from our Chapter.

One year ago, a group of 30 Chapter leaders (Board of Directors and Committee Chairs) came together to create a  for the Chapter in the next 3-5 years:

 To be the centralized resource for accurate and timely education for the Community Association Industry in Washington state

 To increase awareness of and engagement with WSCAI

 To shape policy and advocacy for Community Associations in Washington state

 To be inclusive

Advances Toward Our Goals I am so proud to have been a small part of the advances we’ve taken this year toward those goals. As a Chapter, we updated our website to streamline operations, simplify registration and educational credit tracking, and inform members of upcoming education, events, legislative action, and even job postings within Washington state. We took our Outreach Committee out of the hibernation that was COVID and brought back education in Spokane through the now annual Spokane Day event.

We used our collective voice through the WSCAI Monday Minute—seewww.wscai.org/advocacy—to let our state legislators know how bills proposed in 2023 would affect CIC (Common Interest Community) homeowners and volunteers. We spoke to our State Legislators in Washington DC about national issues important to CIC homeowners as well as the association management industry. Finally, we upgraded our DEI taskforce to be a full WSCAI committee

this year. While in its infancy, our DEI committee has started an awareness campaign with our Chapter leadership and will continue to create a sense of inclusion and belonging within both the Chapter and communities throughout Washington state.

Thank you chapter volunteers for the many hours you have devoted to our community.

Thank You Volunteers

In this season of thanks, I want to thank all the Chapter volunteers for the hours they have devoted to making WSCAI a force for good in our state. From the WSCAI Board of Directors, to the chapter staff and committee volunteers, we’ve sustained and nourished WSCAI for the past twelve months, and I can’t wait to start the process of planning and cultivating again in 2024 with next year’s leadership.

All my best, Andrea Goodmansen, Chapter President president@wscai.org
