President’s Message

Hello WSCAI Members! I am so excited to be your new Chapter President for 2022. This will be my 6th year of

serving on the Board, and what a great experience it has been. I have

been working alongside some wonderful people throughout the years who have put so much time and effort into helping the Chapter grow stronger every year. I am so honored to be part of this great community. The team in the Chapter office couldn’t get any better with Michelle Leary, Mira Fitzsimons and Tara Matthews working hard for the members.

I want to thank Amy Clements for being a great President and leading the Chapter during such a challenging year. I have some big shoes to fill! She led the charge in updating the WSCAI Employee Manual and keeping us all moving forward with many virtual events throughout the year. Amy gave me this fantastic gavel as incoming President. I had to show it off here (see photo).

For those of you who don’t know me, I have two great kids. Justin is 20 years old and is an Electrical Apprentice. My daughter, Jessie, is 18 and going to college in New York City and will be playing softball for Baruch College. My husband Danny and I have just become “empty nesters” and are figuring out what to do with ourselves without our lives revolving around kids, sports, activities, PTA, auctions, and everything else. We have two dogs, Sandy and Riley and Hannah the cat is where all of our attention is currently going. It’s a great time to be President. I’ll be looking for more volunteer opportunities to fill my time.

I want to hear from members, so if you have any ideas or comments, please reach out! Each and every one of you make up this wonderful Association and I’m here to represent you.

If you didn’t make it to our Annual Meeting and Awards Gala in November, you missed a great time. The Social Committee put on a fantastic event! It was wonderful to see members in person and especially all dressed up in top hats and tiaras! We had a great group of award recipients that you’ll be able to read about in the January/February 2022 Journal. Additionally, we raised about $1,700 for the Legislative Action Committee.

Amy Clements‘ gift to Jackie Davis to welcome her as incoming president.

We still have a busy month ahead with our Chapter Luncheon December 2, with a panel that will speak about “The Lessons Learned from Surfside”. We also have the CEO Symposium for CEOs of Management companies and Business Partner companies, as well as WSCAI’s Strategic Planning Meeting, where committee chairs join the Board and brainstorm how to make the Chapter even better in 2022 and beyond.

Next year our Chapter will be adding more offerings than ever before. We have created a DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Task Force and a Women in Leadership Group. Each will be planning some activities next year (more to come). The Business Partners will be organizing something new: “Meet the Managers: A Reverse Trade Show”, in addition to all the other events we do throughout the year.

We’re always looking for new members who can enjoy all we have to offer. Board Members, do you know that you can have up to 15 board members join WSCAI for the price of 3? If you know people in your community who would benefit from all of our education and networking, please send them our way.

The next few months are filled with many holidays: Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and others. I wish you the most wonderful holiday season!

Sincerely, Jackie Davis, Chapter President (206) 507-4191 | Jackie.Davis@goblusky.com
