Ronald McDonald House Charities

hen the pandemic began in 2020, Ronald McDonald House Charities ® (RMHC) had to make many changes


in the way they serve families to ensure that they would continue to have a safe, healthy place to stay while their seriously ill child was undergoing extended medical treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Keeping families housed and fed has been paramount and continued to be their primary focus.


RMHC provides families a safe, healthy place to stay while their seriously ill children undergo extended medical treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital.


Pandemic Precautions


To minimize exposure, they have had to make the difficult decision to stop allowing siblings in the House and closing all of their common areas. Instead of hundreds of volunteers per month, they are down to a small group of vaccinated

volunteers who help run the front desk and other vital services. They no longer are able to have volunteer groups come in to prepare meals, rather, donors such as WSCAI sponsor meals prepared and delivered by local restaurants and catering companies. The House has been very different, but they have been able to retain the core work that means so much: supporting families through the challenges of caring for a seriously ill child.


WSCAI is thankful to the companies that donated funds to support two dinners in 2022.

Pecado Bueno’s dinners are all hand-crafted using fresh, natural ingredients, organic when it matters.
