OSCPA: Describe your greatest achievement in your community and profession. MC: When I was in college, I had planned to get my master’s degree and sit for the CPA Exam immediately after hitting my 150 hours, but God had dif- ferent plans. In 2015, I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University, then from 2016 to 2017, I was deployed with the Oklaho- ma National Guard. Toward the end of the deployment, I started studying for the CPA Exam. Don’t tell Peter Olinto, but I ended up leaving one of my Beck- er books somewhere in the Middle East. Several weeks after getting home, I took my first section of the CPA Exam. In between my first and second sections, I finished planning my wedding, In between my second and third sections, I married my husband and started

OSCPA: How are you creating an im- pact on the community and the CPA profession? MC: Tis past year was an incredible year of service for Peters and Chan- dler as a firm. I, alongside other firm committee members, organized multiple service events with the Oklahoma Food Bank that resulted in more than 7,000 pounds of food organized, creating more than 6,000 meals, which were distribut- ed to more than 200 families. Later in the year we also coordinated a holiday giving event. Ultimately, we were able to donate four dozen toys and books to the Positive Tomorrows Merry Market.
OSCPA: Who has been your greatest inspiration since starting your career? MC: My family is the single biggest fac- tor that keeps me driving forward. Tey sacrificed to give all four of their children every opportunity in the world. I got married around the same time I joined the profession, and my husband has been instrumental in my success. He has been my cheerleader and partner through the CPA Exam, every busy season, and now through every milestone we experience with our daughter. I have been blessed beyond measure to have a family of role models, mentors, cheerleaders and teammates.
OSCPA: Where do you see your career in five years? What’s next on your list of accomplishments? MC: With a new baby at home, life is moving quickly. My biggest goal is to continue to be mentally and physical- ly present with and for my daughter while remaining an involved and active member of my firm, community and the Oklahoma National Guard.
