use competitions as enrollment incentives for class lessons by requiring enrollment in group classes as a pre-requisite to entering the competition.

Winship says that the more people

(skaters, coaches, volunteers) you have involved in your event the better. “Te more people you have participating the bigger the audience is going to be,” says Winship. “All skating school and private lesson students at your rink should be invited to participate in your show production … Te more skaters in the show cast, the more family and friends that will be invited.”

One of the purposes of an ISI event

is for everybody to have fun! Skaters’ parents and the entire community can get involved in building props and sets, sewing costumes, painting scenery, promoting the event, selling tickets and cheering for their skaters.

Ice shows have the same elements as a competition. What you want to do is

involve all the coaches, if you can. We encourage everybody who has skated in your rink that year to be in the ice show. Tat goes for tots to adults to learn to skate classes. We find that more people come to watch those little tots than any other group in your ice show.

ISI event planners say that the key to

the success of an ice show or exhibition is variety. Tey recommend that numbers should be kept as short and simple, but creative, as possible, using skating maneuvers taught in class.
