ICE at the Parks hosted their Annual Fall Costume Party on Oct. 27. Prizes were awarded for best couple, scariest, prettiest, funniest and best overall. Skaters received a goody bag with treats. We mixed things up a bit this year and moved our free district seminar to Nov. 9 at the Dr Pepper Star Center – Farmers Branch, Texas. We are fortunate to have the ISI office in our “backyard.” This year’s seminar was hosted by ISI University and featured David Santee, Liz Mangelsdorf and Rob McBride. The seminar had different focal points for coaches and managers/operators.

The annual Skate at The Lake District Championships was yet another huge success, with 375 skaters representing all nine out of 12 rinks. The most exciting part of the weekend was that it snowed in June! The excitement is building for the ISI Adult Champs in October 2018.

The ISI/PSA District Seminar held Oct. 24 at Oakland Ice Center, operated by Sharks, was well attended. Guest speakers Gerry Lane and Louis Vachon did not disappoint the attendees.
