ISI DISTRICT 12
(COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, UTAH, WYOMING) by Debbie Lane, District Director
We will host our free, annual ISI District Seminar on Feb. 23 at South Suburban Family Sports Center in Centennial, Colo. We are excited to have ISI President Rob McBride as one of our guest speakers for the management section. He will be joined by ISI First Vice President Lisa Fedick, and David Santee, Olympic silver medalist, is our guest
speaker for the instructor’s section.
Moving into the summer, we will host a competition on June 10 at South Suburban Ice Arena. We have already had interest from other countries regarding sending skaters.
ISI DISTRICT 18 (FLORIDA)

The holiday season was busy, although not as busy as previous years. Our public sessions and learn-to-skate classes have been disappointingly flat. I don’t know if it’s fear of the economy or the fact that the hurricane damage last September cost a lot of money for homeowners and businesses, so everyone is being fiscally cautious. Birthday parties and groups also seem to be down; this seems to be statewide.
The Ice Sports Forum in Brandon held their annual competition in September, earlier than normal due to the ISI Holiday Challenge in Orlando. The turnout was very good.
Our ISI District Coaches’ Seminar had to be postponed until April as the Ice Sports Forum had to close their rinks while replacing dasher boards this month.
Our District Championships will be held in June at the new Clearwater Ice Arena.
Congratulations to all our District 18 teams that skated in the ISI Holiday Challenge in October.
