Lifetime Achievement Award


ISI President Rob McBride presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to ISI Executive Director Peter Martell, center. Former ISI President Michael Booker, left, made a surprise appearance to celebrate Martell’s accomplishment and share stories of their time working together at Ice Capades Chalets. ISI Past President Jim Hartnett is pictured on right. Martell, who retires after 19 years at the helm of ISI, has spent a lifetime improving and professionalizing the ice arena industry.


KATY HAYDEN Hall of Fame Award


The late Katy Hayden was inducted into the ISI Hall of

Two-time Olympians and five-time U.S. champions Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner were inducted into the ISI Hall of Fame with their legendary coach John Nicks, left, by their side. When they won the 1979 World Championships, they became the first American pair to win gold in 29 years.


Fame several months ago for her unmistakable and lasting contributions to ice skating and the ice arena industry. Hayden, who owned Winterland Skating School in Rockland, Mass., was instrumental in the development of ISI’s recreational programs in New England. Hall of Fame Award


Doug Peters of Zamboni Company, right, presented Jamie Baringer with the Arthur Goodfellow Award for her behind-the-scenes work that has contributed to the growth and development of the ISI and the ice skating industry. She currently serves on the ISI Board of Directors as the Colleges and Universities representative and is chair of the Legislative Committee and Education and Certification Master Committee, as well as a trustee for the ISIA Education Foundation.


ISI President Rob McBride, left, presented 2015 PSA Choreographer of the Year Rohene Ward with the ISI President’s Award. With his “can do attitude” and positive outlook, the former ISI skater is an outstanding example of what the ISI program can do for young children.

Man of the Year & Woman of the Year


Randy Winship, general manager of Pasadena Ice Skating Center, was deemed ISI Man of the Year. As chair of the ISI Test & Competitions Committee, he was instru- mental in updating the 2016 ISI Handbook. He’s also a member of the Judge Certification Committee.


Ice Station Valencia Skating Director Linda Stroh was named ISI Woman of the Year. She is one of the driving forces behind ISI local and national events in Southern California. An ISI member for 27 years, she has always been a strong proponent of ISI’s goals and objectives.


JANE SCHABER National Merit Award


ISI National Referee Jean Albrightson, left, presented Jane Schaber, skating director at Schwan Super Rink, with the National Merit Award for her role as this year’s conference chair and host of ISI World Recreational Team Champion- ships. Schaber is also the District 10 representative to the ISI Board of Directors.
