Howard’s Desktop National & Other Show Reports

The 2017 National Show in Colorado Springs was held too late in the month to make this August issue of Crown Jewels. The National Show will be featured in September.

This issue includes stories about several recent shows, including Cayucos, California; Spokane, Washington; Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania; and the Australian National Show which was held in Port Adelaide, South Australia. We’ll have reports on the Logan Show, the Lostine Swap Meet and more in the October issue.

Yes, with a little study, you can look at a Hemingray 42 and determine approximately when it was made.

Postal Issues

Delivery of Crown Jewels magazine seems to have improved in recent months. At least we aren’t getting as many reports of magazines being lost or delayed as we were in late winter.

Part of the reason may be due to action taken by you, our readers. We notice that a lot of folks are switching their subscriptions over from Periodical Rate to First Class when they renew. Simply subscribing at the First Class rate, instead of the cheaper Periodical Rate, will ensure faster and better service from the USPS. Also, if you move or change your address, even seasonally, magazines mailed at the First Class rate will follow you.  the addressee of a magazine moves permanently or just for the winter season.

We recommend that you do yourself a favor when you renew by selecting the First Class option.
