Fire Spewing Drone
Trash on a powerline. It is probably not something much of us think anything about. We all have seen tennis shoes tied together and flung up on the line bolo style. But there all kinds of things that can get stuck up there.
Storm
debris from hurricane winds. A bird or other animal that touched the wrong thing and got toasted. A nest built in a dangerous location. The list can go on and on. Some things need to be removed manually of course, but in China, a drone has been designed to help with the job. The author of the article on the web states they don’t know if this is something just being tested or is in actual use.
The video clip shown at the website seems to show a technician practicing controlling the large unmanned arial vehicle. The craft looks to be about 6 feet wide by 3 feet tall with sprayer and gas tank attached.
Hopefully they have thought about having someone ready to put out the falling, burning debris before it sets something on the ground on fire.
