California Members Well Represented at 2019 AGC Annual Convention


AGC of America held its 100th


Annual Convention at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on April 1-4, 2019. A contingent of over 100 members from AGC of California were in attendance among the thousands of attendees that hailed from across the U.S.


During the convention AGC


honored some of the nation’s most impressive construction projects and the individuals and companies behind them with its Build America and Construction Safety Excellence Awards programs. AGC of California members were prominent among the list of award recipients. Following is the list of AGC of


California members presented with awards this year.


JLT Build America Awards Te 2019 JLT Build America


Awards recognize general and specialty contractors for their excellence in the construction industry. Te award categories celebrate projects that excel in the areas of state-of-the-art advancement, innovation, contribution to the communication and more. Te Build America Award winners from AGC of California include:


 Kiewit/Manson, AJV – Marvin M. Black Partnering Excellence Award to for the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge East Span Marine Foundations Removal, Phase 2, San Francisco/Oakland, CA.


 Flatiron - Highway & Trans- portation Under $10 Million New - Campo Creek Bridge Replacement, San Diego, CA.


 Barnard Construction Company, Inc. - Utility Infrastructure Renovation - Oroville Dam Trans- mission Line Reroute, Oroville, CA.

 Rosendin Electric, Inc., San Jose, CA – Specialty Division – Over 4 Million work hours


 Orion, Vista, CA – Utility Infra- structure Division, Under 200,000 work hours


Second Place:  Stacy & Witbeck, Inc., Alameda,


CA – Highway & Transportation category – 600,000 – 2 Million work hours


 Dynalectric Company, San Diego, CA – Specialty Division – 750,000 – 1.25 Million work hours


Third Place:  Griffith Company, Brea, CA – Highway & Transportation Division – 600,000 – 2 Million work hours


 Southland Industries, Union City, CA – Specialty Division – 1.25 Million – 4 Million work hours


A California Tradition AGC of America President-


Elect Dirk Elsperman, Tarlton Corp. executive vice president and chief operating officer, representing Missouri, was installed as AGC of America’s 2019 President at the close of the convention. Guests joined AGC of California President Jerome Di Padova for the President’s Reception that maintained the longstanding California tradition of presenting the national President with the California letterman jacket. 
