AGC Adds SoCal Regional Manager AGC of
California recently announced it has hired Amber Aviles as Regional Government Affairs Manager, Southern California. She is based in the AGC West Covina office. Aviles comes to AGC with
extensive public policy and government relations experience. Most recently, she was the director of policy for the LA Best Babies Network, where she orchestrated all policy and advocacy activities for the Network. She has also worked for the
Bavaria Medical Activity Command, Department of the Army as a lead operations specialist and as a legislative assistant for the United States House of Representatives. Aviles has a bachelor of science degree from the University of California, Davis and a masters degree in public policy with a special- ization in economics and state and local policy from Pepperdine University. Longtime AGC of California CFO Mike Navin Retires On May 22, 2019 dozens of
colleagues, friends and family of longtime AGC of California CFO Mike Navin gathered at the Sutter Club in Sacramento for a well-deserved retirement send-off. Navin leaves AGC after nearly a quarter century with the association in
which he served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Adminis- tration. Under his leadership, AGC successfully navigated major economic shifts, significant transformations within the construction industry, and organizational changes. An Air Force veteran, Navin worked for a variety of companies before
joining AGC of California in 1995. Over the next 24 years he was responsible for the financial management and reporting for the state’s leading construction industry association with an annual budget of $6 million. In 2017, the Sacra- mento Business Journal awarded Navin its CFO of the Year award. John Hakel, Executive Director of Southern California Partnership for
Jobs and former AGC of California Vice President, along with Tom Holsman, longtime former AGC of California CEO, were on hand to pay tribute to Mike at his retirement reception. AGC of California CEO Peter Tateishi thanked Mike for his many years
of service on behalf of the association. “Mike has been a tremendous asset to AGC of California and we are grateful for his many years of service,” Tateishi said. “His commitment and dedication to the organization has laid a foundation and positioned it well for the next 100 years.”
