An AGC group prepares for their visit to the state capitol.


 Martin Wilson, executive vice president, public affairs of CalChamber. Wilson discussed California’s current political climate and the outlook for the 2020 elections, among other things.


 George Kieffer, chair of the Board of Regents of the University of California. Kieffer gave an overview of UC’s 10-year, $36 billion capitol building program spread over 10 campuses. Te funding is slated for UC medical center projects, high-demand housing and parking projects and on campus research and classroom projects.


Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) program, among other transpor- tation funding programs overseen by CTC.


 Isaac Nicholson, counsel for the office of director of the Department of Industrial Relations. Nicholson discussed various activities of DIR and fielded several questions from AGC members pertaining to hot button issues including skilled and trained workforce requirements, prevailing wage for on and off-hauling to jobsites, and pending new DIR regulations on contract registration, to name a few.
