Grievance Manager, Bryan Mathews is responsible for assisting member companies with grievance resolution and compliance. He supports the Northern California Union Contractors Council, Trustee Coordi- nating Committee, craft committees and collective bargaining committees. Bryan worked much of his career
in compliance, union organizing and contractor engagement. Most recently, he served as the Jobs and Compliance Coordinator for California Rail Builders managing the Community Benefits Agreement. In that role he worked to ensure contractors remained compliant with the CBA and CA DIR. Prior to working with CRB, Bryan
was a Marketing Representative for the Laborers Employers Cooperation Education Trust Southwest. He currently serves as a Kern Inyo Mono Counties Workforce Development Board Member and has held the post for approximately six years. Bryan graduated from California

Industry Leaders On September 27, 2018, attendees from across the construction industry met in
San Ramon, CA for the 2018 AGC/Laborers State of the Industry event. Attendees heard from leadership from both the AGC of California as well as
the Northern California District Council of Laborers (NCDCL). Special updates were also provided on completed and ongoing legislation from the 2018 session, regulatory changes and impacts, training center reports and from guest speakers from the California Department of Industrial Relations. AGC of California CEO Peter Tateishi and Oscar De La Torre, NCDCL business manager kicked off the event with opening remarks. AGC legislative advocate Felipe Fuentes, California Alliance for Jobs Executive Director Michael Quigley and Jose Mejia with the California State Council of Laborers also offered input on legislation impacting the construction industry. Additional guest speakers included Ken Lau and Eric Rood with the California Department of Industrial Relations.
