Electric bike share is coming to Syracuse
his spring, an all-new electric bike share system is com- ing to Syracuse. Dubbed SYNC Cycle, the app-based system is operated by Gotcha, a shared electric mobility company available in 50+ cities and campuses across the country.
T
Gotcha’s SYNC Cycle will locate mobility hubs– where riders begin and end their rides– throughout the city to offer easy access to key places. For a more leisurely visit, the sys- tem will also give riders easy access to downtown, Armory Square, and city parks. Two mobility hubs will be located within a block of the convention center to help visitors explore the city. To use the system, download the Gotcha app from the
Apple App Store for iPhones or Google Play on Android. Choose which bike you’d like to use, then scan the QR code on the handlebars to start your ride.
Gotcha e-bikes use a compact electric motor to help you get started when you set off, climb up steep hills, and ride longer distances with less exertion. This helps make the bikes more accessible to anyone and everyone, not just avid cyclists or people who ride bikes on a regular basis.

No matter why you decide to ride, you have the flexibili- ty to pause your journey along the way. Use the bike’s inte- grated lock and the hold feature within Gotcha’s app to pop into a shop, grab a bite to eat, or pick up some groceries. After you’re done, you’ll know you have a bike waiting for you. Hop back on and resume your ride in no time. When your ride is over, return the bike to a mobility hub and end your ride in the Gotcha app.
