NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS 2022 New Year’s Resolutions

IT’S A NEW YEAR with new opportunities! We asked our NARSA/ IDEA Board of Directors what their goals are for 2022. Here are their responses:

What made the biggest impact on you in 2021? Aaron Morrow, NARSA/IDEA Chairman of the Board Johnson Manufacturing Company (Princeton, Iowa)

“The biggest impact I saw in 2021 was the constantly changing prices of raw materials. We had to recalculate pricing on some product lines as many as three times over the year. It was a constant battle of making sure we were okay on our price levels.”

Ed Moore, Director TitanX Engine Cooling, Inc. (Jamestown, New York)

“Following the COVID-19 crisis of 2020 and into 2021, I have been so impressed how people and companies alike have found ways to improvise, overcome, and adapt. In spite of all the obstacles and the no-can-do personalities, the IAM and those of us who depend on the ‘health’ of the industry, found ways to survive and even prosper in some cases in a very difficult time. Good old American ingenuity!”

Roland Ewert, NARSA/IDEA Treasurer Thermal Solutions Manufacturing (Orange, California)

“From a personal standpoint it was a tough year as we lost several close friends who passed all within a short period of time. Declining health of close family members also had a significant impact too. From a business standpoint, the rapid turnaround in business coupled with the rapid escalation in costs, the logistics imbalance and challenges across the supply chain caused a large shift in attention.”

How has NARSA/IDEA helped you in 2021?

Thomas Hart, Director Don Hart’s Radiator (Waller, Texas)

“The core of NARSA provided me the ability to call another shop and say, ‘I need help’ and receive genuine help. This is one instance how the NARSA/ IDEA organization surpasses any other for me. Another example is bringing our crew in for the ‘Lunch & Learn’ segments. These have been great for us. The information provided in the seminar is one thing, the real value is seeing the reaction, pride, and growth that our crew has experienced being a part of these wonderful sessions.”

Scot Johnson, Director American Radiator (Des Moines, Iowa)

“The connections we have through NARSA/IDEA were critical in 2021. I had the privilege to work with board members and manufacturers who support NARSA. By working together we developed new strategies to grow our business during unprecedented times in my professional career.”

Charlie Dorsey, Director ERS Cooling Systems (Glen Burnie, Maryland)

“NARSA/IDEA has helped me with networking with individuals that specialize in niche industries when certain service work comes into our shop. Being able to contact David Bienvenu in Louisiana about marine industrial coolers or Bobby Duran in Puerto Rico about specific generator radiator applications is a perfect example of this.”
