Missouri Banker Establishes Fund to Support Education, Scholarships
A Missouri banker who strongly believes education prepares individuals to better serve their banks and communities has established an endowment fund through the Missouri Bankers Foundation to support future compliance education and scholarships.
Alan Marr, executive vice president, compliance officer and chairman of the board of Adrian Bank, has attended every MBA compliance conference since it debuted in 1993. Marr, who is retiring, credits the knowledge and resources he received through attending MBA’s compliance conference and related education programs during his 40 years in banking as his motivations for establishing this fund.
In the future, the Alan J. Marr Memorial Education Fund will support scholarships for Missouri high school seniors planning to pursue college studies in banking- related degree programs. It is envisioned that the endowment fund also will support compliance education and programming for compliance education programs, as well as the MBA Young Bankers Leadership Division.
MBA thanks Mr. Marr for his generous giſt to support the education of future Missouri bankers.
MBA Foundation Awards InternConnect Scholarships
