Bob Batastini, Tom Kendzia Ensemble Masterclass
less with more and more with less, how to arrange for your ensemble, and how to lead your assembly in sung prayer. Jaimé Cortez
Piano Accompanying Masterclass
The pianist leading liturgy is to support the singing assembly but also to play in a way that's both stylistically appropriate for the music and idiomatic for the instrument. This masterclass, open to all musicians from beginner to advanced, will examine the ways a pianist may approach hymns, songs, and accompaniments in order to incorporate and integrate music theory and improvisation into their piano accompanying for the liturgy. Time permitting, attendees may play one selection for the group and receive coaching from the clinician.

I live my baptismal call in ministry by teaching people that we not only belong to Christ, but to one another as well. This is especially important in evangelization and catechesis because love for Christ and His Church means loving the people who may have forgotten that they belong or who may have been told they don’t belong to Christ. Our culture and our Church are in need of the healing love of Jesus and His promise to make us new. I live my Baptismal call in my own life by trying to stay close to Jesus in center of ministry . . . my relationship with Him and my relationship with my family.
