Cambro evolves its classic CamSquares to extend product shelf life and boost storage capacity.

CamSquares FreshPro Storage Containers
FreshPro storage containers take the design and reliability of Classic CamSquares and introduce a series of enhancements to make what Cambro calls “the most efficient food storage system ever.” Released in January, these containers extend product shelf life, maximize storage space and offer a variety of other benefits to help give operators a leg up in the kitchen. “Cambro did extensive market research, talking to chefs and foodservice operators about what they liked and did not like about traditional square food storage,” says Annamaria Barajas, product marketing manager at Cambro.
By eliminating extruding handles, the FreshPro’s
recessed-handle design allows operators to boost their storage capacity by 25 percent. While the Classic CamSquares include handles on larger sizes, FreshPros have handles on sizes ranging from 2 to 22 quart for improved, ergonomic handling.
What Salespeople Need to Know FreshPro containers made of Camwear polycarbonate are available in 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 18, and 22 quart sizes, with 0.5 and 1 quart options offered in translucent polypropylene. “For the 0.5 and 1 quart, these sizes are a perfect replacement for single-use deli cups,” Barajas says, noting that deli cups are not NSF Listed and not intended for reuse. Given their tight-fitting lids and durable, reusable nature, FreshPro containers are a great alternative for herbs, spices, sauces, and other ingredients often stored in deli cups. These containers can be used in a cooler or dry storage environment, with any perishable food product from unprocessed fruits and vegetables, spices and grains to chopped vegetables and sliced fruits. FreshPro containers can also be personalized with words or symbols for simple inventory management, recipe development and portion control. Although pricing is the same for CamSquares Classic
and FreshPro containers, Barajas appreciates that a universal transition to the new line will not happen overnight. “FreshPro containers are one option for

“Traditional storage containers from many different brands have covers that stretch or shrink and don’t fit tightly on the containers any longer,” Barajas says. “With FreshPro, the covers fit tightly by sealing on the inside and retain this fit over hundreds of washes. The cover fit also prevents spills and splashes from liquids inside.” Each FreshPro can be purchased with a drain shelf which, when combined with an easy seal cover, can extend the shelf life of ingredients by two days.
