French Toast
Kick off Mother’s or Father’s Day with an extra special breakfast! This easy recipe has always been one of my family’s favorites. Often we double or even triple the rec- ipe (since once you eat one slice, it’s nearly impossible to resist one or two more)! Be sure to ask for a parent’s help.
Use a nonstick skillet or griddle to limit the amount of fat required to cook the toast.
Ingredients: • 2 beaten eggs • 1/2 cup milk • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 5 or 6 slices of your favorite bread • 1 tablespoon of butter, margarine, or cooking oil
Instructions: • Beat together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
• Use tongs to dip each bread slice into egg mixture, coating both sides well.
• In a skillet or griddle cook bread in hot butter over medium heat for two to three minutes on each side or till golden brown. Add more butter if needed. • Serve warm with syrup!
