Foundation news Scholarship winners

The Irrigation Foundation strives to promote careers and study in the irrigation field. Last year the Foundation launched a new annual scholarship program. The program was established to provide meaningful financial support for the education of worthy scholarship candidates. Sixteen students from two- and four-year schools from around the nation were selected as recipients to receive scholarship awards from $1,000 to $2,500. These students, who are in programs ranging from community college to graduate level, have a passion for irrigation and are well on their way to careers in irrigation.

Mark your calendars! The 2018 scholarship program will begin accepting applications on Oct. 2 with a due date of Feb. 15, 2018.

I have enjoyed learning about new and upcoming irrigation technology throughout my studies and look to continue this passion by investigating sensor and control systems that may be used to create smarter and more efficient irrigation systems.

I have always been very passionate about farming, specifically growing crops. Learning about irrigation engineering while at NDSU has given me the chance to tie my passion for farming with engineering. I have learned a lot about irrigation and the engineering that goes into it and hope to continue to work toward further success in the irrigation field after graduation.
