IF I WASN’T DOING THIS, I’D BE A: Full-time scuba instructor, trying to make a living.
MOST IMPRESSIVE PERSON I’VE EVER MET: Oh, there’s a lot when I look at various leaders and colleagues in the industry but my mentor back in my graduate school days and guidance in making career and business decisions that I still use to this day, and he always had a way of looking at the most chal- lenging situations with ease.
I UNWIND BY: Tackling the never-ending project list at home, sidewalk chalk - rot Head mentality and escaping to a Margaritaville state of mind.
ON MY DESK RIGHT NOW IS: Org charts, budgets, and way too many sticky notes!
MY FAVORITE IAVM PROGRAM/CONFERENCE/ EVENT/SESSION I EVER ATTENDED WAS: Connect conference some 10 years ago in Salt Lake and certainly made an impact with my career decisions.
IF I WERE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SEATS, I’D BE:
A sound or lighting tech for a touring show.
ONE TRAIT AN UP-AND-COMING VENUE MANAGER SHOULD HAVE IS: Integrity. Honest and ethical business relationships will help any up-and-coming venue manager achieve great results.

ONE OF MY GOALS FOR THIS YEAR IS TO: Carve out more time for family time ... and chasing a three-year- old around the house.
HOW DO YOU PLAN TO HELP ELEVATE THE PROFES- SION? In my role, I encourage my team to get involved and take advan- tage of conferences and educational programs available. Elevating the profession starts with developing future leaders.
WHERE DO YOU SEE NEW GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES IN THE PROFESSION? As venue managers, we’re often challenged to do more with less. This requires us to think outside the box and come up with cre- ative solutions to the issues we face. This is especially true in the area of security. For the industry, I see the area of security an area for much growth. At the same time, on the business side, identify and creating new revenue streams to fund these initiatives will be equally as important.
HOW DO YOU STAY CURRENT WITH INDUSTRY TRENDS AND DEVELOPMENTS? Participation in industry conferences, reading trade publications, and getting involved as a volunteer. No better way to learn and grow than by doing!
WHO ARE THREE PEOPLE YOU’D INVITE TO A DIN- NER PARTY AND WHY? side dinner party. As for why, why not! FM
