development chair! Amy C. Taylor, MD, is doing amazing things for the SIR Foundation!
As the new SIR Foundation Development Chair, Dr. Taylor led the Gala Committee in creating the spectacular 2022 SIR Foundation Gala in Boston, exceeding the goals of attendance and financial support of the Foundation.
In September, she immediately pivoted her focus to the SIR Foundation Annual Virtual Balloon Auction (VBA), tackling back-to-back fundraising events without taking a breath or missing a step!
The VBA was another success, exceeding expectations, and raising needed funds for research projects including pelvic venous disease. Dr. Taylor added her innovation to the VBA, starting a new purple balloon for early career IRs. Getting IRs involved early and developing a lifelong habit of supporting the Foundation is crucial to the future of the specialty. All of Dr. Taylor's residents participated, and along with our CAP partners, members raised $208,000.
Please join me in celebrating Dr. Taylor’s successes and energy. Thank you so much, Dr. Taylor for such successful fundraising efforts in a very challenging economic climate. The entire field of IR is grateful for the work your efforts are making possible.
