EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S TURF 2023 Conference Season

It’s that time of year again as conference season is upon us! TPI’s staff are in full swing preparing for two conferences in 2023. Next year we’ll be in Nashville, TN, for the TPI International Education Conference and then in Michigan for the return of the summer 2023 TPI International Convention & Field Day in July.


Each of these events will have unique opportunities for TPI members to connect, do business, catch up with old friends, and of course meet new ones. As many of you know, TPI typically has the International Education Conference & Field Day combined into one event in February. However, we mix this up every few years in order to make sure that we can host Field Day on both warm and cool-season grasses.


Tis year’s event in Nashville will kick off with optional tours on Monday and then a singer-songwriter showcase on Monday night. Tis will be our fundraising event for Te Lawn Institute, and we hope you will join us for part of what makes Nashville truly authentic, song-writing! It will be a private concert for TPI members and something that we really think everyone will enjoy.


We follow this with a day and a half of education on employment, business succession planning, marketing, mental health, and technology on the farm. Te conference education committee really put together a jam- packed program of education, and we can’t wait to hear more on these topics. Check out pages 19-21 of this issue to learn more about the 2023 International Education Conference in Nashville, TN.


As you can imagine, central Tennessee in February may not be ideal for an outdoor Field Say. Don’t fret, as luck would have it, our 2023 Field Day will take place in Michigan next July, so no need to pack your coveralls just yet! We haven’t had a summer Field Day since 2019 in Minnesota and are excited to get back to the Midwest for the 2023 TPI International Convention & Field Day in July.


We hope you can join us for one or both of these events as we try to continue to provide top quality education and networking for sod producers worldwide.
