Pratum Coop/Landmark Seed Company Announce Retirement of Larry Humphreys
Larry Humphreys by calling him forward to issue recognition for his long service to the turfgrass industry. As stated in the Turf News article about that recognition, “And, as many others have reported, Larry continues to make an impact not only in Landmark Turf & Native Seed and with his customers, but also within TPI and the natural grass industry overall. Larry is that friendly face seen at multiple industry events; one quick to greet first timers and make introductions to help them network; one to deliver on what he promises and lend a helping hand along the way.” And “Included in his expression of thanks for the acknowledgement, was a comment many have heard Larry say frequently, ‘Life is good. I like what I do, and I like who I work with.’” Congratulations on your retirement, Larry! And thank you for your many years of serving the natural grass industry.

Retirement congratulations to our dear friend, colleague, and innovative leader, Larry Humphreys. Having grown up on a family farm and after earning his BS degree in Soil Science from Te Ohio State University, Larry began his sod seed career in 1969. Providing seed and service to sod farmers has been the passion of his career, which has spanned an impressive seven decades! Larry wore this passion on his sleeve and displayed it through his professionalism. His exemplary customer service, responsiveness, and tireless effort, coupled with the highest integrity and ethical standards, has enabled Larry to build strong sod grower relationships, many covering three generations. Larry is not a quitter by any means: his heart, time and energy will now focus on caring for his beloved wife Marilyn. Larry truly is a man dedicated to serve—may we all take note. It is with mixed emotions that we part with him. Tank you, Larry! At TPI’s 2019 Summer Convention & Field Day in Minneapolis, then TPI President Eric Heuver surprised
