TPI MEMBERSHIP NEWS— WHAT’S NEW FOR 2019
By Karen Cooper
TPI Membership Renewals for 2019 Watch your mailbox! 2019 membership renewal statements will be mailed in late November. During last February’s Business Meeting in Tucson, members approved a change to the TPI bylaws that moved the membership year to a calendar year structure. Tis change allows members the opportunity to choose the calendar year in which they pay their dues—2019 dues can be paid in either November/December 2018 OR January 2019.
Membership Database Audit: Make it Easy for Potential Customers to Find You When you receive your membership renewal statement, please take the time to review the TPI membership listing included with your statement. TPI staff is updating the database to make it easier for potential customers to find a TPI member who sells the product they need!
Turfgrass producer members are asked to review and update the types of grass sold and industry partners are asked to update their product listing. All members also should review the names of all individuals associated with their businesses and provide email addresses for each so that we may stay in touch about TPI events and initiatives!
Industry Suppliers: Upgrade in 2019! Now You Can Have All
of Your Employees and/or Distributors Listed in the TPI Directory In response to requests from members, TPI has created two new expanded membership classes for supplier members. Te standard supplier membership only allows for one company listing in both the online and printed membership directories, putting companies with multiple employees and/or distributors about the world at a disadvantage.
Now, for the first time ever, TPI supplier members will have the opportunity to list 10 or even 25 of their employees and/or distributors. And all of these listed employees and/or distributors will each receive printed copies of Turf News magazine.
Under the new system, when someone searches the TPI membership directory for a Class B-1 or B-2 member, they will find multiple listings in various locations. Te advantage of this is especially useful in those times when someone is searching for a vendor within a certain location of their farm or business.
Tese new classifications were developed to create more business opportunities for our valued supplier members while also making it easier for our producer members to find the services they need from a company who supports TPI.
Current supplier members can switch to one of the new categories during the 2019 dues renewal process. Simply call the TPI office at 847-649-5555 to upgrade your membership or contact Karen Cooper at 847-737-7631 or

Changing the TPI membership year to a calendar year structure and creating two new expanded membership classes for supplier members are just two examples of TPI’s quest to better serve its members. As TPI continues to grow and change, we will continue to find new and innovative ways to provide value for your membership dollars.
