When asked if the internship had changed her plans at all, she indicated that her entire college experience has caused her plans to evolve considerably, while still being focused on the turfgrass industry: “When I started college, I wanted to work at an athletic facility upon graduation. After completing my first year, I interned at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Birmingham, Alabama. I decided that I wanted to intern at a sports facility to try both options and see what I enjoyed better. After completing my summer working on tennis courts and croquet lawns, I am not sure what my future holds. Trough my internship experiences I have enjoyed running trials, collecting data, and pretty much anything with numbers. I cannot see myself working on a golf course or athletic facility in the future. I plan on attending graduate school to complete turfgrass research studies and hopefully find my fit in the turfgrass industry. Growing up on a sod farm I have had a passion for turfgrass from a young age, I just have not figured out exactly what I am going to do with that passion yet.”
