“Writing means sharing. It’s part of the human condition to want to share things—thoughts, ideas, opinions.” —Paulo Coelho
The November/December issue of Turf News is always a highly-anticipated issue for TPI members because it offers readers a comprehensive compilation of the equipment and products available to help their businesses grow. But for the team that develops the magazine, Co-Editors Steve and Suz Trusty, Art Director Anastasia Athans, and the many people who contribute content (including yours truly), every issue carries equal importance and devotion to a standard of excellence. And we constantly seek opportunities to make changes that will serve the needs of our readers and TPI members better.
Our members frequently report that, receiving and reading Turf News is one of the top benefits of being a TPI member. But what do you do with the magazine after you’ve read it? Do you save it, perhaps on a bookshelf in your office? Throw it away? Do you share it with others in your office or with your industry peers who haven’t joined TPI yet?
I encourage you to share this issue widely when you’re finished reading it: leave a copy in your break room and encourage team members to borrow it. Hand it to one of your suppliers who isn’t a member so they can see that they’re missing an opportunity to stay abreast of cutting-edge research and to enlarge their customer base through advertising.
Turf News Goes Digital TPI is making it easier than ever to share Turf News with your office team! Digital issues of past copies of Turf News have long been available on the Turfgrass Information File (TGIF) site hosted by Michigan State University (see “TPI News” on page 7). Now you can read current issues using any mobile device—at no additional charge! Access the magazine anytime, anywhere: our digital magazine offers all the same content in a portable form, so you can refer to an article while you’re in a meeting with a supplier. And you can refer to this Equipment and Product Buyer’s Guide when you’re developing your annual business plan.
Look for an email from TPI containing a link to the magazine or contact us at info@TurfGrassSod.org to request the link (digital Turf News is only available to TPI members).
Reader Survey Included with this issue is a hard copy of a Turf News Reader Survey. I urge you to share your thoughts about the magazine: how you use it, what types of articles hold the most value for you and what additional content would benefit your business. Complete the survey and return it to TPI headquarters because your input will help us to develop new features in the magazine that meet your needs. The survey is also available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TurfNewsSurvey, if you wish to submit your responses online. Responses are anonymous to encourage candid feedback. We will provide a summary of the responses we receive in a future issue of Turf News and the detailed results will be available by contacting the TPI headquarters office.
Thank you for your continued support of Turfgrass Producers International and for helping the TPI leaders and headquarters team serve you better.
