• Jim Hornung, Jr., CSP, President Elbers Landscape Service, Inc. Buffalo, New York A 17-year veteran of the industry, Jim Hornung, Jr., has held numerous posi- tions at the company and is proud of its 10+ percent average annual growth rate. He is an expert in business admin- istration, project management and all aspects of snow removal. Jim has served on many industry association committees, is on the board of the New York State Turf- grass Association and received SIMA’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2008 and the Buffalo/Niagara Business Ethics Award in 2013.


• Brad Leahy, Owner & Vice President Blades of Green, Edgewater, Maryland Brad Leahy is a 25-year veteran of the industry, and his expertise is in market- ing, sales, employee recruiting and re- tention, and financial management. The company gets top customer reviews, ratings and awards and has achieved average annual growth of 25 percent since 2006. Brad is active in NALP, speaks at industry events and gives time in his community.


• Brad Rowe, Professor Michigan State University East Lansing, Michigan Brad Rowe has been active in the in- dustry for more than 25 years, focusing on landscape business education, green roof systems, sustainable landscape practices and landscape construction. A longtime participant and host of the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, Brad received NALP’s Out- standing Educator of the Year Award as well as many other teaching awards.


• Dan Stearns Professor of Landscape Contracting Pennsylvania State University State College, Pennsylvania Active in the industry for 43 years, Dan Stearn owned a landscape architecture firm before becoming a professor of landscape contracting. He is an expert at program and curriculum development, student mentor-


ing and industry networking. He has been taking teams to the National Collegiate Landscape Competition for 18 years and has received many teaching awards, most recently the 2015 Milton S. Eisenhower Award for Dis- tinguished Teaching from Penn State.


• Ken Thomas, Owner Envisor Consulting, Alpharetta, Georgia Ken Thomas has been building land- scape industry businesses for 35 years. He started Landscape Techniques and grew it to a $5 million business before selling it to LandCare. He also bought 2 Lifescapes and Scapes and grew them into $17 million businesses be- fore selling them. He is a longtime NALP member, is a Past-President of the Metro Atlanta Landscape Associa- tion, has won many business awards and served on the board of the non-profit 410 Bridge. 7
